I agree with you somewhat.

In the game I tried 13/10, 6/4. The 10 is both a slot of the 10 which could turn into a new blocking point and it is also a builder for the inner board points. I like unstacking the 13 which is rather heavy.

If he hits, I will get return shots as well as an opportunity to build an achor.

XG+ seems to believe that many plays are reasonable.
