Is it only when doing a live cube rollout that Snowie doesn't use CPATS?

No. Snowie doesn't use CPATS in 3-ply lookahead either. This is an example where non-CPATS has weird consequences (the commentary is not aware of the problem with the rollout: It is that in this DMP situation, the bad 3/1 move provokes the most gammonish loose hit replies in the non-CPATS, money-game-style rollout.)
