It appeared that at the end of the match time was lacking to conduct any pip-counts, leading to some clear mistakes (late doubles).
For myself, the lesson would be to conserve time for pip-counts and other mechanical stuff, or to make sure that I would be able to these very quickly, and maybe both. Being able to do these thing quickly seems a major advantage in clocked play.
Another thing I gathered that if your opponent is down on time being a little late with doubling may not be a bad idea, and that if you are down on time yourself, doubling a tad early may not be a bad idea. Obvious perhaps, but not having played with a clock in BG matches interesting to realize.
Finally, in the last game of the match (DMP after MCG's double - hope the file will get uploaded) and with MCG having an advantage in time, Matt made a nice loose hit early on in the game - big gains if it worked, big complications if it did not work. I think that technically it was correct, but Neil also commented that given the clock, this was the best practical play.
I learned quite a bit yesterday night from the play and comments, it was quite interesting.
