Difficult choice. I guess I'd play R here. It's true that P makes a useful point that partially blocks Black's checkers and gives us a nice landing spot in our outer board, which Black's two anchors control right now. Also since Black's midpoint is stripped, we're not unduly afraid of leaving a blot in front of it, especially when 3's are duped. Finally, our back checker exerts some control over the opponent's side of the board and makes it a little harder for Black to connect his rear and front positions. Still, with our big race lead and weaker board, I think that running to safety is thematic. We might be able to make a point next turn in our outer board anyway.
