"Act" was just kidding

It was a long thread and as in long drinking parties, the talk drifts sometimes somewhat OT. Still I very much like THIS thread.
The thread was question whether to permit single player in a doubles format competition.
Stick offered an example of a 2 player team act. Some people added the argue within the team could be a "just kidding" hint to the opponents the take desision was close. I have seen lots of this "theatre" in chouettes.
"Just kidding" also happened if I remember right in that crusial game in 1998? Istanbul between Johanni and Svobodni, when Johanni was sitting in the last ditch, made a "kidding" illegal save of a pip or two and thus saved his home from destruction. Then hit the blot and won against 5-6 remaining opponent checkers. When he did the act he murmured something like: I bet he (Svobo) will not see... But it was heard by the bystanders. The committe (not Svobo) punished Johanni very harsh. I have seen him then as unhappy as a man can be, although he played the final - I forgot who won. Eliott Winslow was there but didn't listen to me to sleep well before match.
I don't think any of the parties in both cases blamed opponents, but the committee did. In both cases Johanni and Kenji said they were not acting proactively. My opinion is that even a proactive theatre is a good (theatre)play to see and ajoy by the spectator and should be encouraged in practice, rules and rulings.
