As Steve said, take Amtrak to Newark Penn Station (not New York Penn Station). Then switch at Newark Penn to PATH and take it to Exchange Place. If you go up the escalators at Exchange Place (not the elevators) turn right out of the exit, you'll be right at the Hyatt.

And MCG's train directions are good. 90 minutes from Hyatt to JFK by public trans. Weekend train service is not as good as weekday. You can use Google Maps to get mass transit directions from Exchange Place Jersey City NJ to JFK.
