Paul, you can use Notepad to save a file with any extension you like.

By default, Notepad adds the .txt extension. So, if you simply enter the name MyFile it will be saved as MyFile.txt.

You can override this behaviour be enclosing the file name and extension in double quotes. So, if you enter the name "MyFile.html" it will be saved as MyFile.html.
