I thought harder about your argument and now I think I understand it. I now agree that if we use cumulative MWC error per match then widening the gap between me and my opponent will increase my winning chances against that opponent. In fact, it seems to me that we get the same conclusion using any measure of the quality of the moves that has the property that when you sum it over all the moves in the match, it yields 1 for the winner and 0 for the loser.

Of course EMG error rate as usually defined doesn't have the right property.
