In Response To: My Criterion for Making a Kamikaze Play (christian munk-christensen)

I am totally clueless, but I will tell you this: every time I make a kamikaze play, I end up losing a BIG BAD BACKGAMMON.

Here is a piece of worthless advice that any novice would be able to figure out: a kamikaze play is more likely to be correct if you are at a match score where losing a gammon cost you nothing.

Here is another piece of worthless advice that applies to chouette strategy: If you are in the box owning a big cube and way down on the score sheet in a chouette and have no intention of paying if you lose, then redouble both before and after making a kamikaze play.

By the way, do you own a computer? If so, then roll out some kamikaze plays and post them on this site. That will give you a lot more useful info than asking clueless people like me.
