Kamikaze plays... does this qualify?

"Is it ever correct to make a kamikaze play if the opponent has a full prime, making recirculation impossible?"
Joe Friedman showed me this position that came up in his match yesterday. Not sure I got the score right, but not only don't you have the chance of recirculation, but you don't even have a chance for a backgame (unless you consider the 0-1 backgame a backgame). Is the kamikaze play right? XG doesn't think so, as it does not even make its top 32 plays at 1-ply so it is off the radar for further consideration. What do you think?
