Las Vegas Super Jackpot round of 8

This event at the new Bally's venue is very well attended. There were over 200 total players in attendence, 79 Open, 94 Advanced and 29 beginners.

The SJ is a 32 player draw where you can enter in the round of 16 by paying double. There were 22 players that entered in the round of 32 and 5 entered in the round of 16. While 7 Giants made the final 8 of the SJ, the field was quite deep and there were almost as many Giants that did not advance as far: Falafel, Stick, Ed O'Laughlin, Kit Woolsey, Mochy, and Steve Sax.

It was an interesting twist that 3 of the 8 quarterfinalists were in the side pool, and all three lost, thus splitting the side pool. 4/8 were left kicking themselves for not entering.
