Deep backgame - a philosophical question.

If you're serious about trying to understand this difficult area of backgammon, then I think the same strategy applies as I stated for kamikaze plays.
1. Start by studying DMP so that gross cube errors by the bot will be eliminated from the equation.
2. Start with positions that you understand pretty well already and check that the bot concurs with you.
3. As you develop understanding of the positions and of the bot's weaknesses, gradually complicate the position to expand your knowledge.
This is a lot more work then just pushing a button and treating the bot as an oracle, but it's the way to go if you really want to develop a solid understanding.
