I think I would have a tougher time deciding if this were a money game. At gammon save, breaking anchor looks suicidal, as does hitting and dumping a second blot. So 8/2 7/2 falls out by default. For money there are a couple of anchor-breaking plays that might win enough to be right; not sure.
