This game has to be brought home without help from the cube. There are two jobs. Prime and escape and not much time to do both of them. For the moment, we are anchored on the 22 point and that should keep gammons relatively low, provided that we don't manage to get hit more than once. The hit on the 3 is required. I want to make it, and with the 2 point already made, the 8 point's value for priming is greatly diminished. Shifting to the ace leaves good 2s to hit and 3s to enter at the edge of the prime. Hitting and leaving the blot on the 3 leaves only the 3-shot to hit and also get to the edge of the prime. If missed, assuming a play of 8/7 8/6, there is only one blot and it leaves a nicely diversified 3, 4 to cover and 5,6 to escape with all rolls with 1,2 only productive as well. This seems like the direct path to victory with tolerable gammon risk.

4/3* 8/7 8/6
