You want to hit to prevent escape or a point-making roll. And you like to make a home-board point. Making the 3-point must be best, because it does all of the above while keeping the blot count down and keeping the 8-point (so better than 8/5 8/3*). 8/5 23/18 is pretty but I think too passive here.
