poker: a minute to learn, a lifetime to master
backgammon: a little longer to learn, a lifetime to master
bridge: much longer to learn to an acceptible level, a lifetime to master
they all take luck. in bridge if you bid to a dicey contract and the cards lay in such a way you can make it - that is lucky.
there is psychology involved in all the games, poker the most, and bg the least. different skill sets for them all. bridge has the additional problem that a partnership is needed for top level competition. thus, another set of people skills are needed.
bridge is a card game. backgammon is a dice game. poker is a people game. all require a level of arithimetic/calculation.
