Really? I remember countless game were I had to make a choice of which finesse (I not sure it's the proper English term) to make. And down the line it was just pure luck which one to make.

I hear what you're saying. I encounter the same thing when I race sailboats. Go left? Go right? Which way is the wind going to shift? And in the end the race is determined by who guessed correctly. But I don't think sailboat racing is a game of "luck" just because the results are sometimes based on things that I can't predict in advance and guessing correctly makes all the difference.

This is a different phenomenon than the pure chance of rolling dice or shuffling cards. If you want to call it "luck" I can't argue with you, but it's not the same thing.
