(1) Holding the anchor has some value in avoiding pointing and pick'n'pass numbers. There are quite a few such numbers, although fewer than there would be if White had a longer prime. But holding the anchor has little value in forcing an eventual shot, because White has so many spares on the 4-5-6 points, and because Blue can't sit on the anchor very long. In sum, holding the anchor is less important than it would be in many 22-point holding games. (2) 22/16 8/7 is obviously better for Blue when White rolls 6-1 6-2 6-3 or 6-5, and what swings me in favor of this play is realizing that the more or less doubling of Blue's hitting numbers gives Blue a very nice redouble.
