What's the point in having your own site if you can't rant on it?

Stick wishes he had more time to rant.
As an experienced ranter, I say to Stick: You simply need to make a commitment to find the time to rant more. You are already pretty good at it, and with a bit more practice, you could be great.
On the one point where Stick and Mr. Davis agree, I strongly disagree. "I am with Bill on this one, I would not recommend mandatory clock use for a weekly event."
As David Rockwell pointed out, some weekly touraments have hopelessly slow players that spoil the party for everyone. Some people actually have to get up before noon the next day to go to work. People are not going to keep on coming back to a weekly tournament when they have to sit around forever for their next match. People are not going to keep on coming back when the finals end after midnight and they have to be at work in eight hours.
Either put clocks on all the matches of the known slow players or else mandate clocks for everyone at the weekly tournaments. Let these guys gain some experience with the clock in a local tournament before they play in a big one.
When I ranted endlessly in September and October about Mr. Davis, several hundred people sent me e-mails advising me and pleading with me to cool it. I say to these good people: Please notice the massive amount of restraint I am exercising by not using this opportunity to resume my ranting.
