One problem I see in backgammon. If one guy plays 25 tournaments and another guy plays 5 tournaments a year. Naturally the guy who plays the most have a huge advantage in getting results, but that doesn't mean he is the better player. Of course in backgammon the dice/luck plays a huge part in winning or losing matches.
