Although there are about 30 ABT events rated so far, the volume of data is still far from significant. The vast majority of players are still well below the 400 experience points during which ratings are accelerated.

There is limitation in the current software in that it does not permit filtering by skill division. So a player with a 15-10 record in the Intermediate division will likely have about the same Elo rating as an Open player with a 15-10 record. There is currently very limited mixing between the two populations. So some of the players near the top of the ratings list could be successful Intermediates.

Finally, the more data, the more we know. So there is nothing wrong with having points systems as well as Elo ratings. The ABT point system is an existing metric that is completely driven only by achievements - specifically "cashes" in main events. The USBGF will likely develop other achievement-based metrics to complement the ABT and Elo.
