Why I Hate the Meyer Dice Tube

I like using a Meyer Dice Tube, although I would like more evidence to show that it produces random rolls. I suspect that it does, but would like to be convinced. It certainly speeds up play for people that shake too long, like me, or throw too many cocked dice, like many. But there are some mechanical concerns I share with others:
'Another shortcoming of the dice tube is the ability to manipulate the dice.'
An unethical player could take advantage of the tube by keeping his hand on the tube as the dice are settling. It would be hard to see and more hard to prove that a very slight movement of the tube caused a cocked die to settle. I believe that the hand should be removed from the tube as soon as it is turned and placed, while the dice are tumbling. The potential for controversy is great for those that wish to keep their hand on the tube as the dice are coming to rest.;
'If one of the players should accidentally or intentionally knock over the tube, what was the roll?'
One of my opponents did this three times this past weekend. I had no problem as the dice had not settled yet. There is a problem as to proof of the roll if the tube is knocked over after the dice have settled.
