How do you play and why?

Let's look at our options:

1) Clear from the rear with 18/11. Blue is ahead in the race and will need to clear this point anyway, so since this roll is so sucky use it to do the unpleasant task and hope for the best. The problem with this play is that it leaves 17 shots, and allows O to unstack with all of them.

2) Bring two down from the midpoint. This leaves 15 shots - almost as many, but White will have to abandon the anchor in order to hit. It also gives Blue more chances to make the 5-point if he's not hit. I like that better.

3) 13/6 leaves even fewer shots (13) but at the expense of making an already ugly stack even uglier. nah.

4) 13/10 6/2 Bring one down and play the four behind the anchor. This also leaves 15 shots and while it unstacks the 6 point it doesn't seem to have much else going for it.

So I say bring down two. It gets hit about as often as the other choices, but works much better when blue isn't hit. Plus it often costs White more to hit than the others.

Without the white blot providing counterplay I might go for the safe stacking play, but with the blot hanging around with few builders to cover it I can play more boldly.

13/9 13/10 for me.

Now I'm off to see what others have written...
