In Response To: Why I LIKE the Meyer Dice Tube (Rich Munitz)

I'd be more worried about the not-so-skilled cheat saying "lets use this nice dice rolling app I have on my iPhone".

Your comment is probably directed at some random app that comes from who-knows-where. But let's take this idea a little further.

Suppose a well-known company produces a dice-rolling app that has open source for the random number generator. And suppose the algorithm is analyzed by experts on such things and deemed to be of "good quality". And suppose there is a way to verify, at least after the fact, that the numbers displayed are the correct output of the random number algorithm. Then I think this dice-rolling app would be a very good way to get random dice.
