Disagree with Stick's Book Review

In Response To: Disagree with Stick's Book Review (Bob Koca)
All pre-bot era books contain many mistakes. Are all of them bad? I also think that especially beginning books are used to learn basic backgammon concepts and not memorizing reference positions and 501 is quite good at presenting those concepts IMHO. Is there any new book for beginners?
