Correlation between ER and opponent

I will sometimes be taken out of my opening book at local tournaments. For example 42S 63 ( I hit and slotted in comparison to 54S 63) and other equally crazy examples. Later on there may be other more crazy plays. I disagree with your first point.

And if gnubg makes a strange looking surprising play I will be thinking hmm what am I missing here. If some fish makes it I won't think that so I I suppose an error in my next play would be more likely.

As a practical consideration who doesn't modify their play against a fish?
