For simplicity, forget about the 20/16 10/5 finesse I mentioned at gammon go. White is delighted to anchor with all 4s that also hit (64 43 41), and of course she should anchor with 44. Even with 54 White should anchor on the 20pt rather than leaving the blots split on the 24pt and 20pt. Blue is way ahead in the race, but his 18pt blot hasn't yet reached safety.

If you just mean to imply that people tend to overestimate the value of White's anchoring in this sort of position (as you may have picked up from Christian, though I didn't interpret his comment the same way) and if Blue is missed immediately (though that's only 11%) that in most of those variations he will then get his 18pt blot to safety and have a big edge, sure I agree.
