I really have no idea of your motivations in so adamantly promoting your dice tube -- I can't imagine you're getting rich off of it and I'd like to think you're not so vain as to attempt to establish your everlasting legacy from the 'Meyer' dice tube.

I will accommodate the dexterity challenged by using a dice tube if it is utilized in conjunction with a clock.

I will not otherwise use a dice tube. I won't roll for the use of a dice tube. My extreme attendance bias will favor tournaments with clock preferences and no preference toward dice tubes; I will seriously consider not playing in tournaments with any type of dice tube preference.

You've conveniently omitted (don't all promoters?) the discussion of a number of procedural shortcomings and 'cheating' potentials previously addressed on this forum in association with the dice tube.

Personally, I think the whole thing is a joke. If you weren't so serious and so persistent about the damn thing I'd think the whole concept facetious

MY ANSWERS: What is my motivation for so adamantly promoting the dice tube? It's simple...I truly beleive it has incredible merits and substantial advantages over the traditional dice-rolling methods.

I am certainly not "getting rich" by selling dice tubes. The price of the product barely covers the cost of the materials. Additionally, I build, package & ship each tube myself. There is no "company" or "factory". It's just me. I have a full-time "day job" (Regulatory Compliance Officer), which consumes 50 to 60 hours per week. I spend evenings and weekends building & packaging Meyer Dice Tubes. I have a wife, 2 kids, and a small room in my house that is my "workshop". Each tube takes me about 3.5 hours to cut, template, drill, clean/polish, lace with tubing, test, prepare the caps, and package for shipment. I do it because I beleive in my product, I love the game of Backgammon, and I want to be able to provide a high-quality product to people who appreciate its merits and would like to own one. It's that simple. Vanity has nothing to do with it. I would have no problem changing its name to the "Riles Dice Tube", if that would make you beleive that vanity or "legacy" is not an issue.

Does inverting your hand to grab the tube really challenge your level of dexterity? I'm not trying to be a smart-ankle by asking that question. It's just that the motion is very comfortable for me, and I've never had anyone else complain about flipping the tube challenging their dexterity.

I would love to address other "procedural shortcomings and 'cheating' potentials" if you could be a little more specific. Obviously, cheaters switchng gaffed/loaded dice into a game is something that we all need to be aware of...but that scam is much harder to accomplish using a dice tube than it is using dice cups.

I'm interested in you explaining in more detail why you "think the whole thing is a joke".
