Maybe "definition" is not the right word. I meant arbitrary dividing line. Playing an opening 3-1 is just about as easy as playing a forced move.

Yes, probably a good idea to stop counting once the game has been decided.
I'd betcha that X, where X equal times you hit opponent minus times opponent hits you, correlates with ER.
My point is that any errors leading to a hit are already included in the ER. There is no reason to give an extra penalty to the hittee after he is on the bar.
