A reason why I will always insist on a clock anytime I'm afforded the opportunity.

The simple fact that the you are "using the exact same length of tubing for each tube" accomplishes nothing with regard to ensuring equal tension in each span of the tubing through the tube. Try this exercise -- take one of your completed tubes, stretch one of the center spans a bit and feed the extension into the next span. The tension is increased in the one span and decreased in the other -- and is different from every other one of the spans. Upon release is it all redistributed? Very simply, no. The routing of the tubing in/out of holes in the sides of the tubes restricts such distribution/re-distribution.

Do the same thing with the equal length shoelaces in your tennis shoes. Pull them tight and tie your bow-knot. Do you think the tension in the portions of the laces near the toe is the same as the portions of the laces near the top (near the knot)? Don't waste your energy, they're not. The laces near the toe felt nothing when you tugged at the top.

I know all of this seems silly, but every time you feed some nonsense out as fact in support of your tube I just can't constrain myself.
