Ohh, and by the way, I don't think you should allow the sealed tubes in tournament play.

It is not for Brett to decide that they are allowed (and I don't think he has made such a statement). A sealed tube is absolutely not allowed in tournament play as I interpret the rules (at least the US rules). The rules require that 4 dice be selected for the match and mixed and selected. Even with clock play that uses 2 dice for the game, 4 dice must be selected and mixed for the match of which 2 are selected for play. It must be possible to mix the 4 dice between games. None of this is possible with a sealed tube. As much as I like the dice tube, I would never play with a sealed one.

The tube with removable end caps makes it very easy to do this. And the end caps are larger in diameter than the tube which I believe makes it more stable than the sealed tubes.

I have had perhaps one or two instances of tipped over tubes in all the numerous matches I've played with the dice tube. That said, I and my opponents have always placed precedence on ensuring that the inverted tube is flat and stable on the table, rather than ensuring that the hand is off the tube quickly. If people are determined to get the tube flipped, set and hand removed all within one second, I can imagine that the cases of knocked over tubes might increase.
