Hitting seems clear to me here. Basically you are in really bad shape already, need to fill in the 5 point and are extremely unlikely to do so naturally, and give your opponent a chance to roll something bad. If he fans you might either get a closeout or pick up the 2nd blot and if he hits you may fall into a back game, but if he just plays his upcoming rolls with no opposition he will keep improving one way or another.
