I do not buy this theory that bots killed the game because people realized that they were not good and were losing money. Most online poker players lose money consistently. But, gambling is fun and sometimes average and below average players win. And losing poker players keep coming back online for recreation

But you said it yourself. In poker there is no bot that tells you how bad you played. In poker you're able to shrug it off and blame it on luck. You can't do that in backgammon anymore because of the bots.
