Now, if someone wants to argue that they don't like the tube or the baffle box because they don't like to see the game change in any way, or because they are used to the old way and they like it, I respect that argument. But all the other arguments are, in my opinion, specious and red herrings and do not hold water logically and objectively.

Much as I like using the dice tube and appreciate the many advantages, and will use it at every opportunity if my opponent agrees, I see nothing wrong with the statement by people that they "enjoy the physical act and emotional excitement of rolling the dice". I prefer playing live on a physical board. You can state all the advantages to be gained by playing on a laptop. But I enjoy a real board and real checkers when I play live. It is not that I am stubborn and set in my ways. I see little difference to having similar emotional feelings attached to rolling dice. I know a number of people I respect who have been open minded and tried using the tube and just didn't enjoy it as much. I know many who were skeptics and found that they liked the tube better. I was one of them.
