As always, pros will still be the visible part of the iceberg (how many pros in chess or poker vs amateur ?) But the more amateurs you will have, the more subscriptions to your national federation.

For the shorter match, I'm not an expert but my feeling was that a shorter match leads to more complicated cube decision. And the tennis like system, will allow to reduce luck. But it's just a feeling, not based upon statistical analysis. Also the swiss format will allow a loss in a confrontation sometimes without being eliminated. I thought these three parameters could reduce luck.
