I see four candidates: 13/5*/1 24/20, 13/5*/1 13/9, 13/5*(2), and 13/9(2) 24/20(2). Even though it's good to cover the 1pt after we've slotted it, 13/5*/1 seems too fragile to me. It's not easy to follow up the attack. If we're going to attack I'd prefer 13/5*(2). So the question is, after playing 13/9(2), which five-point to make. Making our own 5pt also hits, but leaves return shots. I think the return shots are worth putting the opponent's checker on the bar with ten checkers in the zone, so I play 13/5*(2).
