What settings would you suggest? According to Roberties settings he had posted, 648 trials, 3ply for checker and cube, i take by now the predefined XG 3ply variance reduction settings and crank the trials up to a trustable standard deviation. I have played several backgames defending against XG, and it is surprising, how "human" his style is. The first Rollout i cranked up to 40k, the p... prime play came up at first with 0.003 and a standard deviation of 0.001 (unfortunatly the computer crashed, and i have to go again for this). Because the second Nack Ballard was involved, it is of interest what he would have played. And you Stick, would you shoot from the G-point?! But the real question is: is there a different handling, and what can we trust(i have not three wizards to ask)?
