It seems that the choice is between a) making two valuable points but leaving a shot (8/7(2) 6/5(2) and b) making the five point and shuffling some checkers.

I like the 13 pip lead in the race, so I'm going to do the shuffle 6/5(3) 21/20.

I don't think slotting the bar with the fourth ace (6/5(2) 8/7 21/20) makes much sense - if I'm going to leave a shot, might as well just make the bar point and be done with it.
