I can't speak for John, but if we're not leaving a shot then 6/5 doesn't look better than 8/6 because spares on the 6pt are usually quite a bit more valuable than spares on the 5pt. But I'm surprised that John prefers shifting the valuable 5pt to the much less valuable 4pt. That looks even stranger to me than 6/5 21/20.
