According to the World Backgammon Association "All matches played using game clocks must use Bronstein time."

Yes, this is indeed what all of the backgammon clock rules say. It is also just not done. The rules should be changed. Every match I've ever seen clocked in backgammon uses simple delay. That's the reality. I agree with Stick. It would be better for backgammon to default to Simple Delay and let people change it to Bronstein if they prefer.
