Oh, and forgot to mention that being ahead -3,-4, you will want to stay away from gammonish plays.

Forgot to answer the what did you do question.

If you deserved to lose then perhaps you were looking to maximize contact and played 8/4(2) 6/2* 5/1. Then you scooped the cube and got gammoned.
