In Response To: 64R 51 ^46 (neilkaz)

Thanks for the ^46 result, Neil. Here is data for 64R-51:

    [$ S9 R15 D74 X75] ~15**5 (ext in prog)
    [$ S14 R30] /31*5
    [$ S4 R27] <62*31
    [$ S7] ^46

As Neil astutuely pointed out: Compare to 63R-51 where it is best to split, since (IMO) it is more difficult to safe up the runner and play safely.

Moving White's blot back another pip produces (the unorthodox) 62R-51. This position has been rolled out only on Gnu. As Gnu's rollout results tend to be slottier than the other bots, I've listed the relative results for $ and S below only for Gnu (an apples-to-apples comparison):

    64R-51 [$ S14] /31
    63R-51 [S $4] /62
    62R-51 [S $22] /15

The further back White's blot, the less likely it is to reach safety next roll (in which case you'd rather have further increased your chances to hit by splitting rather than be blotted on the 5pt). As a consequence, 51S is (relatively) weakest against 64R (-.014) and strongest against 62R (+.022). In the middle position, S is only a tiny favorite (+.004).

The three positions are diagrammed below (with nacbracs encaptioned) for reference:

2O ' ' ' '5X '3X ' ' '5O

1X ' ' ' '5O '3O ' '1X5X

64R-51 [$ S14] /31

2O ' ' ' '5X '3X ' ' '5O

1X ' ' ' '5O '3O '1X '5X

63R-51 [S $4] /62

2O ' ' ' '5X '3X ' ' '5O

1X ' ' ' '5O '3O1X ' '5X

62R-51 [S $22] /15
