Just to be clear, in my earlier post I assumed substances that are not banned by law, but that may be prohibited in (some) sports. I think no reason to regulate this. The big difference with physical sports is that there these substances (a) have a potentially big impact, and (b) may have very severe consequences if misused - not the same for BG.

Cocaine, heroine etc - anything banned by law is also banned at BG tournaments of course. As far as I am concerned, anything permitted under law also permitted during BG tournaments.

It seems now that chess and checker players need to undergo some testing, which is vaguely ludicrous. E.g., use some inhalors against a cold and you may be in offense, but it does nothing for your performance.
