ATS opening

In Response To: ATS opening (eXtreme Gammon)

The idea of using the components of a rollout to predict the results ATS has been tried. It is better than nothing. But, it doesn't work as well as an ATS rollout. When using components to estimate the result at different scores, it is implicitly assumed that the same moves will be made ATS as were made during the original rollout. That assumption isn't valid.

As an example, use this method on 53P-41 and see how it varies from the ATS rollout results.
