As a true-red Buckeye fan (you can't be a true blue one, that is a M*ch*g*n color) I agree this whole deal is preposterous.

1. Tressel wasn't "the decider" on what the penalty would be for what they did. They aren't "skirting the punishment" if they play in the bowl, then declare. He should have let them play without their having to say they'll come back.

2. About them saying they're not going to the NFL, then going anyway: Since they haven't signed anything, I suppose that's a real possibility. Any lawyers here want to weigh in about that?

3. I entirely agree with Tressel that these mementos of their football careers should be something they treasure, not let go for chump change. Even if the rings, jerseys etc. mean nothing to them, someone in their family might want to get these things as heirlooms someday.

Have any of the BG WC's who post here, sold their trophies?
