That, recognizing that it could be a theoretical "issue", when the whole thing came up for discussion, I offerered to temporarily step down for a period of time on the condition that if nothing "happened" in that time I would be reinstated.

The board discussed that (also excluding me from that board meeting - geez, talk about not being able to face your accusers - which was, again, not permitted under the by-laws) and decided that that wasn't good enough.
