There are 3 sides to every story, and even when the facts are all the same (which is rare) the perceptions are very different. REGARDLESS of what did occur and how it will be resolved, here is what I am certain of:
All sides should put the benefit of the greater good ahead of personal grievances...if all parties truly care about what is best for the future and the promotion of backgammon (and I believe they do), then take this entire matter off line and argue, discuss, and hopefully, settle it privately.
Airing these grievances and "dirty laundry" in public can't be good for anyone involved, no matter what occurred and who is right or wrong.
Now, you might think that coming from me this is funny, because I have been guilty of arguing publicly myself when I disagree with someone or some things. It's so much easier to see how wrong this is when someone else does it!
There are individuals who are involved in backgammon, who run tournaments, or are highly visible and vocal people, who I strongly disagree with, don't like, and don't support, but I have come to realize that taking these fights out in public are simply not good for the game.
What we see here is a classic example...and I appeal to all parties involve to prove that they care enough about the game to take this argument private, because no matter who is wrong or right, everyone involved, and the game, is damaged as a result.
I also appeal to the rest of us who were not directly involved to reserve judgment as we certainly do not know all the facts and all the factors involved.
