Suggestion
Posted By: Casper van der Tak In Response To: USBGF Response Regarding Rod Covlin (Rich Munitz)

Both parties don't look any better if this continues. My own view has not changed, and no need to repeat it here. I have a three point suggestion:
1) All parties stop making posts here and start a cool-down period.
2) After three weeks, USBGF and Rod meet (maybe with some third party acting as mediator) to see how to move forward. The cool-down period is used by both parties to figure out whether there is anything they have said/done that they would like to retract/apologize for. Both parties are encouraged to come up with something.
3) As far as I understand justice systems, it may very well be that there is never a formal outcome of the criminal investigation. I think that waiting for the outcome or final resolution of such criminal investigation would therefore be unfair to Rod. So I think the decision whether or not to reinstate Rod should be not be based on that, but on the current status of the investigation (Joe's question in another post here is relevant) and an assessment of whether the parties could work together again given what has been said & done. I personally think both parties should express the willingness to work together again - provided the other party does the same. Perhaps a temporary Board membership could be useful to see whether things work if Rod would be reinstated; this could be changed into a permanent one after the end of this temp. period.
I hope this gets resolved quickly.
