Question and suggestion to the USBGF

Is the reason for not having Rod on the board that the USBGF is afraid that Rod's personal reputation might hurt the USBGF?
If so, in what way do you really think his being on the board could hurt? (loss of existing members? I strongly doubt that would happen if you reinstated Rod. His being on the board could somehow stop someone from joining? I doubt this even more strongly.)
Assuming there are not other compelling reasons for keeping Rod off the board, I suggest that Rod is reinstated on the board ASAP as the innocent man he is presumed to be until proven otherwise.
As rational backgammon players, the board should realize that Rod's personal reputation can't really do any serious harm to the reputation of the USBGF and he can still do a positive difference for the organization. Let's not forget here's a man who went ahead and started what a lot of people had been dreaming/talking about for years. And he was (is) so dedicated that he was willing to do it for his own money. To me it is an absolute no-brainer to put Rod back on the board in stead of wasting time discussing when certain meetings took place or what was discussed.
As much as Rod seems to care for the USBGF I suspect that would would voluntarily step down immediately if he were to be convicted.
