24/23 8/2, not so much because I prefer to advance the back checker than because I prefer not to advance the front one to the ace point.

For those who really want to hit, isn't 8/2 6/5* slightly better than 24/18 6/5* ? (Less hits = more chances to make the five, more lost gammons = we don't care).
